International eTwinning experience camp in Lithuania (EN)

EC eTwinning programme Lithuanian eTwinning national agency organised a three-country meeting in Trakai,in August 17-19. The aim of the meeting was to share eTwinning experience and spread new ideas among Latvian, Bulgarian and Lithuanian teachers.
The first day all the participants visited Vilnius, the capital of European culture and enjoyed the excursion in the old town.After the sightseeing they went to Trakai to the place where the meeting was organised. They were met by teachers from Alytus Panemune Secondary school S. Nedzinskiene and J. Arbutaviciene dreessed in national costumes. The guests were met according to old Lithuanian tradition- with a piece of bread and salt.The eTwinning symbols and material was presented to the guests.

Coordinators of the eTwinning project from National Agency- Violeta Čiuplytė and Aurelija Michailovaitė warmly greeted all the participants, presented the meeting programme and introduced Latvian and Bulgarian eTwinning coordinators.

In the evening every country presented their own culture-traditional food, songs, games.Everybody enjoyed dancing Lithuanian, Bulgarian, Latvian dances.

The second day started with Latvians’ presentation. Antra Balode from Latvia Agenskalna Gymnasium told how to create a project knowing only Russian language.She pursuaded us, that this was possible and presented her own examples.

An art teacher expert Jolita Morkunaite from Lithuania, Kaisiadorys A. Brazauskas Secondary School shared her experience working with eTwinning projects. She emphasised good sides of the project as well as the problems which she faced working with projects. She also shared the experience in solving the problems if they occur.

After the presentations all the participants worked in groups- from idea to a project. According to the plan, they had to generate an idea and write the project. After that every group presented their projects and all the participants had heated discussions untill the project was ready to register.The discussions were in Russian and the registration was prepared in English.

Lithuanian eTwinning consultants Giedrė Sudniūtė from Utena Dauniškio Gymnasium and Larisa Tichonova from Rokiskis region Pandėlio Gymnasium introduced the updated etwinning site and shared their experince.Then all the new projects together with partners were registered.

After hard work the participiants visited Trakai Castle and got acquainted with the Lithuanian history.

On the third day an English teacher Virginija Kanapinskiene, Karmelava Balys Buracas Gymnasium made a presentation “Intergration of international projects into education.Writing and managing projects” The teacher has a lot of experience in EU projects and tried to show the impact of them on students’ socialisation and motivation. Besides, she presented teaching material, based on projects.

The meeting was a great success- the teachers registered new projects, had a good motivation for future and found new friends for. The teachers got a clock with eTwinning symbol as a present and the certificates of attandence the meeting. Everybody thanked the Lithuanian eTwinning National Agency for the organised meeting and were very happy to find out that knowing only Russian you can also create a project.
